Quota & Billing

Quota is consumed at request time, before the email is delivered. If the API returns 202, the credits have already been deducted.

PAYG credits

The free plan lasts 3 months

The free plan is available for your first 3 monthly periods only. Each period resets your monthly and daily counters automatically, same as any other plan. Once your 3rd period ends, sending returns 402 with a message telling you to upgrade — your account, domains, and data are untouched, and sending resumes immediately once you subscribe to a paid plan or add PAYG credits (PAYG credits work even without an active subscription). You'll get an email warning 7 days and 3 days before your final period ends.

•Recipient count = 1 (to) + number of cc + number of bcc. Each counts as one send.
•Monthly quota is consumed first. When exhausted, PAYG credits are used as overflow and they never expire.
•Free plan resets both monthly and daily counters automatically for its first 3 periods — see above.
•If the quota check fails (402 or 429), the email is NOT queued and no credits are consumed.

PAYG credits: single sends vs. Bulk Send

Once your monthly quota is exhausted — including after the free plan's 3-month cap ends — how PAYG credits are checked depends on which endpoint you use:

  • •Single send (/v1/user/email/send), including CC/BCC: the full recipient count — 1 (to) + cc + bcc — is checked and deducted atomically in one request. If your PAYG balance can't cover every recipient, the entire request is rejected with 402 and no emails are sent — this endpoint never partially delivers.
  • •Bulk send (/v1/user/email/bulk): the background worker checks quota one recipient at a time as it works through the job. If credits run out partway through, recipients already processed stay sent and the job pauses (paused_quota) instead of failing outright — see Bulk Send for how it resumes.
iExample: you have 3 PAYG credits left and no monthly quota remaining. A single send with 10 total recipients (to + cc + bcc) is rejected outright — 3 credits can't cover 10 recipients. The same 10 recipients submitted as a bulk job would send the first 3, then pause at paused_quota until more quota is available.

Early renewal

Paid subscribers can renew their subscription early, before the current period expires. This is useful if you want to secure the next billing cycle in advance while you have funds available.

  • •Early renewal is available during the 30 days leading up to your expiry date.
  • •The new period starts from your current expiry date, not from the day you pay. Your billing cycle does not shift.
  • •Only one early renewal is allowed per cycle. Once renewed early, the next renewal window opens 30 days before the new expiry.
  • •A confirmation email is sent immediately showing when your new period starts and ends.
  • •Early renewal requires a saved card on your account.

How to renew early

Go to the Billing page and open the Subscription tab. When you are within 30 days of your expiry, a Renew now button will appear. Click it to charge your saved card immediately. No redirect or checkout flow is required.
